I made my 10th, (most attendees still full of themselves at 28),
and didn't make it again until my 40th last fall: I was full of
great expectations, as Pip said, but it was a bust:
only 70~ of 625 showed up, it was in the basement of a low rent AmLegion Hall, most of the attendees were withered old men/ugly ol'women that I barely recognized; most were about to retire from 30 years of slinging axles at "Fords", (sic), and very few of that small turnout were anyone I had ever hung out with.
I came away shaking my head and wondering what had happened in those 40 years. Not that I was cool or whatever...just where had the time gone and how by fate or luck or serendipity, the passage of 4 decades had not been kind to many.
I hope yours is a lot more fun, L.
