I can attest to this first hand. I went to a Sprint/Nextel store last week to halp a friend migrate her service from Nextel to Sprint in order to get one of their newer BT phones. It was a nightmare to say the least. The salesperson in the store apologized for their "transition" problems and said that it would probably be 2 years before all the billing, migration issues were all ironed out. I wonder how Sprint Corporate would feel if they knew that their sales personnel were telling people the 2 year story?
They should be happy that their employees are being honest with their customers... it's the exception rather than the rule these days.
