Sounds like the NAv computer is crashing when it tries to read the map disk. The 'basic light blue' software is backup software held in the TV tuner (I think) and is only displayed when the Nav computer is not responding.

What sort of map disk do you have in the Nav computer, Original or Copy?

Make sure the disk is clean.
