Well £20 lighter and none the wiser I decided to finally get stuck in myself. It may have been the £1200 replacement cost quoted by the dealer.

The outcome was a fully working system with possibly the need for a new fan. There was a dry joint on the connect of the Computer PCB and a loose connection in the 'blue' plug.

Looking at a new fan and am relatively pleased.
