Most BMW stock them because they do break. I even got a discount at Crevier so a set of 4 hooks were basically $2!!
I would get it because it is more sturdier. The original ones were over-designed with 2 springs inside of them and really made up of 2 different plastic parts.
The new, upgraded design is simpler....just a solid, one-piece sturdier plastic hook.
BTW, the new, upgraded hooks are made in Mexico FWIW.
