Vin, your damed if you do, your damned if you don't.
If you mount it low, it doesn't pick up radar as well. And, you also don't get the benefit of the radar detection in the rear which will be blocked by your seats, passengers, etc.
Yes, it will still pick up laser mounted high. How do I know? It went off when a bogie lasered me. Still got a ticket.
Laser protection really only works when the bogie shoots a car in front of you within a limited distance. And lets assume the car in front of you was not speeding and he does not go after them. Well, now you know he's there because your laser went off.
But 9 times out of ten, by the time you know you've been lasered, it's too late.
