BUT since most of the times CHP (at least) uses Ka rather than laser, you're better off mounting the detector somewhere that maximizes RADAR detection rather than laser -- esp since, statistically, you're usually dead if you even detect laser -- it's kinda like mustard gas lol. That's the way I see it. Only annoyance with havingt the radar mounted up high is the freaking power cord ... not exactly neat and tidy nor inconspicuous in the least.
