MCİ is on a distinguished road
Best part about living around NYC is the endless varitey of food. As a fellow Long Islander, you need to get out and explore the different areas.

My fav snacks:
- edamame
- Sunflower seeds try BBQ, nacho or Jalapeno
- Munchies
- Hibachi peanuts (try asian grocery store)

Sweets:
- Morton's Godiva cake with vanilla ice cream (highly recommended)
- Belgium waffles w/ gelato (Try Int'l cafe in Rockville Ctr)
- Cheesecake from Greenpoint Bklyn, they love putting rum or vodka on the bottom
- Chinese pastry (Maria's throughout dwntwn chinatown)
- Gujiya or Prakiya (Indian sweets throughout jackson hghts)

Appetizers
- Potatoe & Cheese Perogies (goes nicely with steaks)
- Empanadas
- Greek Pizza from Astoria (they use feta and mozz)
- Thai Satay beef/chicken
- Polish Potato Pancake w/ apple sauce
- Chinese Dim Sum - many things to try
- Real polish kielbasa (not the supermarket crap) its more like bacon
- John Vincent Truck Pizza (hes around wall st and water st often) - Remember this guy served the 9/11 rescue workers when everyone else was closed.

Meals
- Chuleta with Yellow Rice & Black Beans (Try Sophie's Cuban or Cubano midtown)
- Hungarian Goulash (plenty of polish restaruants in greenpoint)
- Steaks! Try Kobe? (Wolfgang, Uncle Jacks, PL, Anglo & Maxie)
- Cajun (try Mardi Gras in Forest Hills)
- Laguna Grill in Westbury
- Carmine's Italian by the South Street Seaport (personal favorite - old mobster feel)
- Brazilian BBQ (Churrascaria Plataforma midtown)
- Dallas Texas BBQ (72nd & Central Park Drive- just west of the Dakota/Lennon building)
- Gourmet burgers (burger joint or old homestead)
- Hotdogs? (Gray Papaya)
- Not sure Asian/Jap/Thai? Try Fusia 56 in midtown. They mix it all up.

Let me know if you need more ideas....
