This is the process for pairing a BT phone with the car. Are you doing this, and what are you seeing at each step?

1. Turn the car off.
2. Push and hold the pairing button in the car for at least 1 second. (The pairing button is not the button on the steering wheel. It is a separate button on or near the phone cradle.)
3. Then, while continuing to hold down the pairing button, switch the car's ignition to position 1.
4. Continue to hold the BT pairing button down for another 2 to 3 seconds after you turn on the ignition.
4. Release the BT pairing button.
5. At this point, the car's nav or MID screen should display "BLUETOOTH PAIRING.

Now, it is time to tell the phone to pair to the car. These steps are different for every phone, so just follow the general steps.

1. Go to the connection or Bluetooth setup menu and find a place where the phone would add a Bluetooth headset.
2. Select an option that looks something like find new devices or add new devices. (You are not making the phone discoverable. You just put the car in discoverable mode above, so the phone must find the car.)
3. The phone will probably show some type of searching screen, then it will display a list of available BT devices that it found.
4. Select the "BMW ULF" option.
5. Your phone will probably then ask for a confirmation and then prompt you for the BT passcode.
6. Enter the passcode printed on the car's Bluetooth module.
7. The phone may then ask you for a confirmation to accept a BT connect to the car, after you enter the passcode. If so, try to select a "YES" or "NEVER ASK AGAIN" option on the phone.
7. The car will beep once to indicate that it has paired with your phone. And, the car will remain in pairing mode so that you can pair other phones, if you wish.
8. After you have paired the phone, turn off the ignition.
9. The ignition back on, and within about 30 seconds, the phone should indicate that it has connected with the car.
