If I was coming down from Northern California for a BMW meet I might consider a more scenic route and avoid the LA traffic completely! Perhaps you should come down the 99 to the 58 at Bakersfield. Stay on that all the way to Barsow. There turn south on the 247 towards Yucca Valley and on down to Desert Hot Springs. I suspect it would be a much nicer drive!!!
