White House says convicted Rep. Ney should resign

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Friday urged a Republican congressman resign after pleading guilty to accepting meals, drinks, gambling chips and other items worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Ohio Rep. Bob Ney has become the first lawmaker convicted in the Jack Abramoff political corruption scandal.
