Well not exactly true, but i started with an acoustic. I think it is easier though because since acoustics have a more thicker feel to the strings (maybe it's only on certain guitars) it was an easy transition going from acoustic to electric because of the ease of playing guitars. But i think it just depends on what your going for. I like acostics because i can take it whereever i want. BUt i like electric cause of the different tones you can get from it and the ease of hammer ons and pull offs. Oh and tapping. (I think those are the right terms.) It up to what your into really. No matter which one, learning will be the same on both pretty much.
