Go to "Set" or "Settings" on your SatNav. Your software version should be displayed as something like 3-3/31. It is a standard BMW system. As such - as long as you understand what you are doing (!!) you should have no problems updating.
All the guides as to how to do it are readily available on this most excellent forum.....
