We are one of only two vendors in the states that source only a specific 9th Generation ULF module sourced from Germany, which are the latest versions available on the market. Most kits use the 552 module, which ceased production back in 2003. You cannot purchase a 9th Generation ULF over a BMW parts counter due to a parts freeze, until the previous generations are sold out.
You probably know already that we are huge fans of OEM integration. The newer 9th Generation modules are compatible with more phones, and have had numerous hardware revisions over the 1st Generation 552 module.
Our Bluetooth kits support the following functions:
- Voice Activated Dialing
- Phonebook Synchronization
- SMS Text Message Display (depending on carrier)
- Name Recognition
- Voice Activated Navigation (vehicles equipped with NAV)
- Digital Notepad
And most importantly - does not void factory warranty, since we are using only Genuine BMW parts.
There are systems out there that use modified ULF boxes, toggle switches, or pieced together kits that is only compatible with a few vehicles or only a handful of phones - we're seen them all.
I run the same 9th Generation system on our website in my M3 w/ NAV, continuly testing with new phones. FYI - we only offer items we would install on our own vehicles. Besides the iPod, this is my favorite device in the BMW.
Depending on model year, there is a specific wiring harness for your BMW as well as Bluetooth antenna and arial wiring. Also included is a 2nd Generation microphone which offers better audio quality and noise cancellation. I know this seems like a lot for a Bluetooth kit, but it shows how much time and effort has been put into the packages. Support for features before and after installation is always available if needed.
The most important piece is the
ULF module. Do not run nothing less than a 5th Generation module in your e46, and the latest generation if possible. If you are unsure of the ULF generation, ask for the part number. We have no problem telling you, and have all 9 Generations listed on our website.
