Seriously, it's not a big surprise. I predicted that he would be acquitted of the serious potential state prison crimes and get convicted of a misdemeanor relating to providing alcohol to a minor. Obviously the jury gave the DA a big F you by not even convicting on a token misdemeanor. They were sending a message. The problems with the case came down to two things: the victim and his mother were revealed as very unbelieveable people with agendas, and the DA was perceived as going on a witch hunt. It wasn't even so much about MJ's money buying his way out of it. I think that if the victims of any case like this can be shown to be deceitful and have an agenda, anyone can get acquitted.
BUT... as I always say, there is no such thing as innocence, just varying degrees of guilt. (C)(R)
