imola is on a distinguished road
Dont' know if this information is on topic but i've been working on how to listen the voice Data of the navi firmware on my PC.

I read the Sound Files in csf Format with a text editor. On the first Line you can read about oki MSM6585. I Found this is an sound device (IC) for Voice outputs. It's working with ADPCM Formats at various bit rates.

So i used my Sound Editor (Adobe Audition, other will work too if able to open ADPCM files) to open an renamed csf File. You'll have to rename it to*.vox instead of *.csf and open as *.vox File. Adobe Audition is asking about the sample format during opening of the file. If you select 16000 as sample frequency you can listen to the opened audio file like on your navi.

Perhaps it is possible to edit these sound files to get own voices. I will try to find out more an will post my results here.

As far as i can say there are two different alert sound signals in the files. I'm still dreaming on starting an sound when approaching to a speed trap ) If only i could trigger one of these two sounds somehow.
