The tp (traffic program) system in England switches the radio to any local station giving traffic reports whatever you are listening to cd, tape or another radio channel then it reverts back afterwards, the rds system (radio data system) posts in the display the radio stations identity and other info, it is also able to switch the radio to the strongest fm signal of a given station automatically.
