PDC Problem, no long beep

Hi Guys,

I have read a bunch of PDC posts on here but havent found anything quite like what I am experiencing, so I decided to try and pick your brains

I have a 2005 Range Rover and was referred on here by the guys at rangerovers.net forum...

Basically, the PDC is still totally a BMW system (or so I am told)... what I am experiencing is the following:

- When I activate rear-gear, or press the PDC button on the panel I hear a short beep from the rear, nothing from the front.
- When approaching objects to the rear, the PDC functions as expected and beeps progressively as I approach.
- When approaching objects to the front, no beep at all from the PDC.

It seems as if the PDC in the front just doesnt exist... The PDC light in the dash doesnt flash, nothing...

The dealer doesnt seem to know what is going on, and neither do I... From the posts I have seen here, it would suggest that the common point of failure is the PDC module, but since I dont get a long beep indicating a failure, I wonder if the front pdc speaker (I understand there is a dedicated spkr for the PDC, right?) is problematic...(connection or bust spkr)...

Anyone had a similar experience? I tried to read as many pdc posts as possible but they all mention the long beep, or interference from the DDEs, which I dont have... nothing was changed in the car from stock (although the problem started to appear after software was updated in the car to correct a headlamp solenoid issue)

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: After a bit of reasoning with the dealer they decided to check the front PDC speaker and seem to think it is the culprit instead of the module. They are going to get the new speaker on tuesday and I'll post back if that isnt it... I think thats the culprit... Sorry for wasting you guys' times....
