Smile first benz ever in the family...

... is a 2006 E350 for mom!!

My Dad and I found her a silver/black/rosewood E350 today (with 13K miles, balance on the warranty) from RAB Motors in San Rafael (Marin County, NorCal). Actually, I was down in SD trying to study for finals lol so was helping as much as I could via telephone lol.

Anyway, the car is not particularly loaded, except for upgraded Harmon Kardon stereo and satnav. Strangely, it doesn't even have xenon headlights. Out-the-door price: $45K.

Notwithstanding the lack of options, mommie is thoroughly overjoyed and both my parents will be making a trip down to visit me in SD come Thanksgiving in 2 weeks since I'm far too busy to go home with finals just 3 weeks away. (I noticed the car gets nearly 30 mpg on the freeway and can supposedly do nearly 600 miles on a tank ... wow ... it's only just over 500 miles from Mill Valley to SD by the 5 ... that's impressive!)

Seriously though, both my parents are at a loss for words -- they both think it's the most comfortable, luxurious car either of them has ever owned and/or driven, not to mention the quietest! My Dad loves his Porsche; and I love my X5 of course; but I guess for a comfy, daily driver that's pleasant for mom, well, let's just say I see why EVERY persian mom in LA has an E-Class lol. Now my persian mom has one at last too

That said, I must say: the interior of the E-Class is WAY nicer than the current 5-Series which I find to be just TOO spartan. My girlfriend's brand new ML 350 was in the shop the other day and they gave her a 2006 E-Class loaner, and I loved it.

Anyway, yes I know:

I'm waiting for my dad to find his camera's USB cable to xfer pix to his PC for emailing me down here in SD lol. As soon as he does, I'll post some.

Meanwhile, any good MB message boards you guys can recommend? I found MBWorld.com which seems to be the MB equivalent of X5world. Agreed?
