Question 107K miles + original transmission + PCH from LA to SF?

So I know i've asked for your opinions regarding how much life you think i've got left in my transmission now that I'm at 107K miles.

That said, on the weekend after finals, weather permitting, I wanted to take my gf up Highway 1 from LA to SF and show her the Bay Area for her first time ever, via the most amazing road on the planet

Obviously, due to the type of driving (hilly, twist, constantly shifting between 2nd, 3d, 4th gears, with a few stints in 5th), coupled with the mostly complete lack of cell phone reception, i'm wondering whether you would all discourage me from making the drive considering the age of my X5's transmission?

As for the drive itself, I should mention that I've done it nearly every year for the past 8 yrs (except last year, and maybe one other) and have always been smart about not going while raining, etc. I'm so good at the drive, that I've managed to time it just right to grab a bite to eat at Nepenthe and still make it home to Mill Valley by 9 PM at night or so.

So yeah ... your thoughts?
