Thanks for taking the picture again. So what do you guys think? I don't think BMW would make that big of a mistake to include this in the official accessories catalog if they were not going to come up with a manual gearbox for the E70. Who knows? One thing is for sure, if they do ever offer a manual gearbox the shifter would need to be a really short throw shifter. Looking at the picture below I think it's possible to do it with a short throw shifter and/or a slightly rearranged console (maybe with a smaller storage area).

Whether they offer manual or not does not impact us directly if and when we replace my wife's E53 with an E70 because we would be getting the Automatic. However, it's the idea of BMW not offering a manual on a model that used to have it that bothers me. I would not want to see it become a trend and spread to other BMW models.
