You don't even have to look at the day-to-day numbers. Just look at the quarterly profits of the oil companies. Each quarter they are setting records. Exxon-Mobil profited more last year than any corporation ever has in a single year, beating their old record from the previous year. And I would bet that this year will be higher than last year.
