The race is totally in doubt. Two Michelin tires have failed in the high speed corner (injuring Ralf Schumacher in that corner) and the Michelin teams might not be able to compete. Michelin flew in new tires but has of this minute, FIA is not allowing the teams to use them.

The teams are demanding a chicane on the main straight before the high speed corner. FIA is denying this as of now.

They are lining up on the grid, but drivers whose cars are shod with Michelin tires are considering starting the race and taking one lap, thus fulfilling their contractual obligation, and then pulling into the pits in protest and not continuing.

What a mess....
