My whole family came into my room and we turned off the lights and we had the TV on with the pictures and info of the launch. About three and a half minutes after it took off, we saw an orange glow out in the southern sky.. it was the shuttle! We knew it wasn't a plane, because it was a steady orange, and it was moving in the right direction. It was a very, very cool experience!
Want to hear something really cool, I grew up in Orlando, FL. I remember a night time Apollo launch from the Cape. Talk about an amazing experience!!!!!!! Of course that was before you were born
