This report was total BS in my opinion. They basically stated the obvious -- stuff that has been said by the anti-war crowd since before the war even started. This is basically damage control. Strategy #1 failed, so now they will try Strategy #2 with the goal being the same -- to privatize the oil industry in Iraq. If you read the report, that is one of their recommendations. What that has to do with peace I have no idea. But it will certainly make money for the oil corporations, which is their goal here.

As for them talking about withdrawing from Iraq, that is total nonsense too. There are 17 perminant US military bases that have been built there, and when they talk about total withdrawal, they do not mean closing those bases, they mean withdrawing all other troops, but leaving those 17 bases. If you think they are going to withdraw from Iraq, think about this: We still have troops in places like Germany and Korea, and those wars have been over for 50+ years. In fact, if you look at American history, we always keep bases wherever we fight wars. We still have our base in Cuba from the Spanish American war. They are not planning to leave Iraq any time this century unless they are defeated like in the case of Vietman. And based on what is going on in Iraq, I think that a military defeat may be a very good posibility in the next few years. Hopefully they will come to their senses before that and withdraw, but I doubt it.
