The reality here is that Saddam was not nearly as hated as he was made out to be. While there were parts of the population that clearly hated him, he was also loved by many as well. Most Iraqis saw us as invaders and not as liberators. As many of us said back in 2002, the war was lost before it was even started. No war like this has ever been won in the history of the world.
