Aimster, by 1/2 on your crossover, what frequency is that, d you know? I'm not too familiar with the basslink, so please forgive me. Are there numbers anywhere on the dial? Depending on what frequency your crossover is set at, re-adjustment of the crossover might yield you a db or 2.
