Pick up the car rags and read the reviews of the GM cars for 2007, many of them have a statement in the review along the lines of "much higher quality materials". In addition, GM isn't cross selling their vehicles between all of their brands anymore. While some are still cross sold, GM finally realized that they were in competition with themselves and it was hurting their business.
GM will be back. And it will be good.

Very good point, Ron. I really like the new GM trucks, especially the new interiors; and even the new Saturn Aura looks very promising...
