You will not get any video from an audio only cable. To get the video out of the Ipod you will need audio/video cable with a 3 banded 1/8" jack on the Ipod side to convey both video and stereo audio signals. Also for some reason apple has not followed the standard to convey video and sound so you will need a proprietary connection cable.
