Thats an easy answer. If you buy the BMW Professional Satnav option in the UK it is approx £2000 (US $4000) for the factory fitted hardware. Then BMW (Navteq BV Holland - Owned by Siemens) issue a bi-annual map dvd update via BMW for £200 (US $399) - An utter rip-off. It is released in March & November each year - but not issued under warranty - you have to spend $798 a year to stay up to date! The maps are not up to date on release & despite continued requests to BMW they do not contain a Speed Camera database - unlike the TomTom & Garmin sytems. This is very important in the UK & Europe where our extremely corrupt Governments are pulling in millions of £'s a year with £60+ camera fines!
"Counterfeit" disks are as good as the originals in my experience over several disks that have been created with UK & European Speed Camera databases added & tested by myself. Don't mislead the BMW community...................
