Is there a users manual that I can be linked too? I am looking at purchasing a 2007+ model, but if the NAV system is only used for NAV, then I dont really need it, but if it operates similar to IDrive, then I think that it might be worth the $2900 premium it commands.

First of all--The nav is $1800 option.
Nav system is a selfcontained full navagation system with voice prompts and clear text display--It can be full map screen or split map/text--it also displays all radio settings and controls and all Sat radio info if your car is equipped--it also reads out your trip computer info same as the button on the steering wheel stalk. It displays time and date also. It also controls the bluetooth enabled phone. It does not do stuff like heating, lighting etc. If you get nav then your radio has no display on the face. After using it for 5 days I like it and once you learn the controls its quite to use---I like the fact that it is up high easy to glance at while also seeing the road ahead. True its an expensive option but so is everything else and It will add to resale value. THere might be a PDF of the book somewhere--maybe someone can help you on this.
