BT Phones must have certain profile (I can't recall the name) among the bluetooth functions in order for them to download the addresses into the BMW module. Some phones have this profile, some don't. "Handsfree," for example, is a bluetooth profile. All BT phones have it, that is why most phones work with any BT enabled car.

If your phones are not downloading the address book, most likely they do not have this profile (man, I wish I could remember the name!).

From the pics, the both look like pretty standard flip phones. Cingular has a few that work well. Now, HERE'S A HEADS UP! -- Make sure you get a smart phone. If you don't, the phone (like the Razr) will not display the phone numbers correctly in the BMW screen.

Smart Phone:
John Smith (H) -- 210-555-1212
John Smith (M) -- 210-444-2222

Non-Smart Phone
John Smith (?) -- 210-555-1212
John Smith (?) -- 210-444-2222

With a phone that is not a smart phone you are forced to save names including their location (like "John Smith Home") in order to be able to tell the difference between locations in the BMW screen.

Good luck!

Jose
