Audible only. Nothing on the screen. But there are several "beepers" on the car and the driver can easily "hear" which sensor is nearby - there's one beeper on the back, and one in the front left and right. No need to look at the screen to see that the front is almost hiting something when you are turned back doing reverse manouvers

We have no seat heating (nor leather), but on the test drive we notice that there's only two buttons, each with three heating levels (a button and three leds).

The Nav is way worth the money. Not having those seat heating, ac and other options available on the iDrive systems is an advantage, as it makes everything more simple and efficient. As I read once, "how can a BMW be still called the "ultimate driving machine" if you can't drive and operate the idrive at the same time (at least not safely)".

The Navi system provides the following features:
- Radio screen (radio has no screen at all), with radio name, RDS info, list of radio channels (for the 6 buttons), etc.
- CD and 6-CD changer screen (ok, it only says TR01 and probably CD01, not much more than that)
- iPod integration (don't have it, don't know exactly what it does)
- Navigation system *fully workable only with the knob*, which is really important when one is driving. it would be nice to have a knob near the shift gear though, like the iDrive, but the advantage of not having to worry if one has to rotate the knob, or to move the knob, or to press it, or to press the menu, or to do something else..
- integration of radio/cd/etc and navigation, via split screen (the info is shown while the navigation instructions are kept on the side of the screen)
- BTW: the X3 navigation *do* support perspective, like the iDrive system, even if BMW tells you otherwise. Just search the forum.

In conclusion: the system, even being expensive, is worth the money and much better solution than any aftermarket product. Try it. You'll want to have it.
