Digital cables are all the same if properly constructed. They don't need to be expensive to be properly constructed. Thick gauge wires and exotic materials doesn't necessarily mean it's properly constructed.
Analog cables do benefit from thicker guage wires and exotic materials up to a point. IMO chasing the last 1% of difference by spending 10x more cash doesn't make much sense. I recall one speaker cable round up test that rated Home Depot 8 guage bulk speaker cable as good as some brand name cables costing 5 times as much (no it wasn't Consumer Reports so it was a proper test).
