Your problem is that you think "the job" is something other than what those in charge think. "the job" is for the corporate and military contracts to earn as much money as possible from this war, and to drag this war profiteering out as long as they possibly can, of course at the expense of the American taxpayers.
I know that you think "the job" is to defeat the insurgency and restore order in Iraq. Silly you for thinking such a thing and actually believing those who have lied again and again about the reasons for this war.
