Cool, I'll give it a go, a very nice touch, well done for finding all this info out. I'm more confident now messing around (and killing the unit) since I know I have working copies to reload the software!

Still gotta put the mk3 back into my mates car, it's horrible compared to the mk4. Missing my perspective and quicker loading times

The screen is coming up perfect now BTW, needs a couple of seconds before pressing the key and opening the door and it is there

Going back to programming via the iBus, here is a list of some of the options that can be programmed to the key http://www.e38.org/E38-Options.pdf

I want some of these options added, the seat memory options in particular. I already got the auto locking done, and at £20 a pop, it's cheaper to buy the interface from reslers.

Also some of the options the dealer will not add on, for example closing the hood from the remote control. Their BMW software will not allow it. I know it is possible since a friend of mine got his TV unlocked, roof auto open/close and mirrors to fold up programmed by some guy. I assume this is all controlled via the iBus.

Maybe this is something that can be done using CarSoft, not sure if you have used that or not. I assume this uses a OBDII cable though, and not the iBus.

So before the summer comes back to the UK for a week, I wanna try doing it myself if possible before handing over me cash!
