Belt drive is also more prome to microphoning (picking up sound from the speakers). I wonder why the industry standard turntables are direct drive? They are selected by broadcast engineers who know and care a lot about sound quality.

Mick, that Denon is great for the price, you should go for it if you haven't already. Never had a problem with vibration from a belt drive or direct drive turntable used in locations 5 feet away from people running down hallways on upper floors of any studio I've ever worked in.
