Count my wife's 4.8 in as well. Not so much peeling(yet) but more like a couple of nicks revealing whitish/gray plastic on the spokes. Mayhaps from fingernails/jewelry.

I was hoping for updated part that is more durable. Not sure I'd care for the steering wheel spokes to be matching wood or even carbon fibre.

On the brightside, the finish seems to be much more durable that the rubber-coated Apple Newton looking stuff on my E46.

jobaker4 - what were you referring to as not the stock 4.8 steering wheel?
