yup!! i OFTEN do that with downshifts, esp if my left leg is helping to prop me in the seat while entering a turn and braking at the same time and i need all the lateral support i can get. but can't usually do it with upshifts unless i wait for the engine speed to slow down enough at which point it's too slow and inefficient
