It's a shame to kill a fish like that..

In Miami, I used to be a professional angler.. Meaning, every year we competed in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale Bill Fish Tournament. We actually won 1st place for family (my bro and I) and 3rd overall one year for a cash prize of $10K.
The regulations are very clear in these types of tournaments, it is CATCH AND RELEASE.. and it is stritcly observed and monitored by judges placed on boats.

(We caught 4 80lb sailfish in 18min..) we had three on at the same time..

Anyway, the point is, I would be much happier seeing a picture of that great fish and knowing they let it go.. It is especially sad because it probably is not a good tasting fish (the smaller the fish, the tastier !)

The only reason they brought it to shore was for bragging rights...
FREE THE FISH, FREE THE FISH !!!!

I know what you're sayin', B. I'm no pro, but I do jump on several charters a year out of Oregon Inlet, NC into the Gulf Stream for Tuna, Dorado and billfish. What a blast!

I'd guess that in Thailand, after the economic hell they've been through with the tsunami aftermath, people would look at a fish like that as a gift from whatever deity they worship. I've known a few Thai over the years, their list of acceptable cuisine is a lot longer than ours is. Fried cobra is a delicacy over there.
