Take it back to the dealer and have them test and fix it. Early X5's had a few different modules that would stay awake and drain the battery.
Well documented so they should be able to fix it without to much problem.
If you like the vehicle have them fix it, its not that big of a deal, but make sure they agree to pay to fix it until your sure the fault is rectified.
