Same thing happend to me twice in the last week when temps were below 18F. The sound really sounds like you've kept the key turned for too long when starting, kinda metallic, and it starts and runs just fine. It's gotta be the belt slipping slightly - it does not do this when I start it when after staying in my garage overnight (at 50F).
