I drove the 4.8i with sport package and personally I thought the ride was smooth. I was expecting more of a stiffer ride, but was surprised how nice the suspension was. However, this is subjective and people will have a difference of opinion. You should drive both back to back and determine whicj suits you best. The 19's will give you getter cornering grip and less tire roll-off due to the lower profile sidewall.
