Thanks for the responses. But I have another question. I hadn't actually thought about the 720p vs 1080i issue. (I have resolved that a 1080p set is not important.) In reading the specs for the Mistu, it states that it's a 720p LCD engine but when I have something like a Discovery HD that looks amazing, the on-screen information tells me that it's showing it in 1080i. I understand that whether a program is 720p or 1080i is dependent on what the broadcaster is sending out the source material in. So I guess my question is, technically, is there any detriment to having a set that has a 720p engine? Is it that 720p=1080i? I cannot seem to see any difference in the quality of the picture. It seems that the quality of the signal is more of a factor than the television itself. I have asked a couple of friends, one with a 46" Aquos LCD and one with a 67" Samsung DLP, and they both report the same thing.
I'm getting more confused the more I think about this.
