It is a pretty simple concept, with out the IED road side bombs and random hit and run tactics, coalition forces would not have to feel that they have to keep moving to avoid becoming a statistic. Attacks in the past have come from being boxed in during traffic jams etc. Unfortunately, the rest of the populous has to bear the brunt of the reactionary tactic of "keep the convoy moving" ..there is really no other way to go about avoiding setting up yourself from being a target of opportunity....and I am sure it does not win friends or influence people either.
