didn't have this experience in my car. my cousin has a camry, and on right before a bridge, his car started to smell of burnt rubber, and his engine started to smoke. we opened the engine hood to find it leaking oil very slowly. he looked in front of the engine where the oil filter was, and it was the filter that was leaking; it was punctured.
