Bro, you need to chill. Nobody is trashing your Pontiac or your X5. I own a 2000 X5 and I love it to death. However, it is an undeniable reality that the new X5 will be better than the current X5. Just because you personally think the new Bimmers are ugly relative to your old Bimmer doesn't it is so. You can't refute the fact that sales figures for the new 7 and 5 series have increased -- not declined -- over the previous generation models.

I recall E36 owners having the same reaction to the E46 when it came out in 1999. E36 owners cried bloody murder at the insanely ugly E46. What happened to those people? Do you think anyone would actually choose an E36 over an E46 now? The same thing will happen to all of our X5's. They will fade into history as a great but obsolete model.
