Last time I was in Cancun, I saw several pesos washing up on the shore and then found a wallet floating by as I was snorkeling. It had ID in it, so I compared the beachgoers to the photo and found the owner, who was a Mexican tourist from Guadalajara.
He said thank you, but not even a hint of a reward, and I recovered about $3000 pesos that would have been fish food!
