What a wonderful thread. Hope it's still going when i get back. But what has been said i agree with. 2 cents added later.
6:00 PM Ok let's see where was i? Ah yes ultimate compilation of Miles Davis. Man what a personal decisions that has to be. My only suggestion regarding something like this is go on a listening rampage. Go to the library and get everything you can find. Ask to borrow CD's from other friends. Sit down turn off X5World for a while and start listening. Make a note of your personal choices. You know where i'm going right. asawadude has it correct.
But if If you really want to enjoy Miles find someone with clean vinyl pressings and a more than above average system too play the discs. Believe me it's worth the time to absorb oneself in this art to understand what this is all about. The vinyl pressings offer something that in and of itself is an art form that captured the artist at work. If you haven't already please do yourself a favor and try it. Yeah I have heard all the arguements about digital VS vinyl and i offer no arguement for either side except to say that if you haven't heard it then you deserve it. And by all means let me know what tou think.
