Seems like it would be perfect! and you could sync it over wifi with your car in the garage.

The problem i've found is that the Apple TV has dvi/HDMI/Component video output, and all the Video on NAV screen options i've seen are just regular old Composite video. Any way to get around this problem?

This would be for my E46, btw.
I'm sure there will be a cable adapter to connect to older tv's via composite or s-video cable. On our laptops, we only have a DVI connector, but then there's plenty of adapters for ouputs like VGA and Composite+SVideo.
